Scope we request and why
Local Business Manager requests one Google OAuth scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/business.manage. It is needed to read and update the Google Business Profiles that the signed-in user owns or manages, so that agencies and businesses can reply to reviews, publish posts and photos, keep profile information accurate, detect unwanted changes and report performance. We request it only when a user chooses to connect Google, and we do not request access to any other Google service.
Google data we access
| Google data | Feature that needs it | Read or write |
|---|---|---|
| Business profile information: name, address, phone, hours, categories, services, attributes | Profile information, Profile protection | Read and write |
| Photos | Posts and photos | Read and write |
| Reviews | Reviews inbox | Read |
| Review replies | Replying to reviews | Read and write |
| Posts | Posts and photos | Read and write |
| Performance metrics: impressions, calls, direction requests, website clicks | Reporting | Read |
| List of accounts and locations the user manages | Choosing which profiles to connect | Read |
Only profiles you own or manage
Access is limited to the Business Profiles that the signed-in user owns or manages in Google, and among those, only the ones they choose to connect. Local Business Manager never scrapes Business Profiles and never edits a profile the user is not authorized to manage. Nothing is written to a profile unless the user or an authorized team member makes or approves the change, or turns on profile protection to restore values they approved.
Rank tracking does not use this Google access. It uses public search-result data from licensed search data providers.
Limited Use
Local Business Manager's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train general-purpose AI models. Read the policy at https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy.
How to revoke access
- In the app: Settings, Connections, Disconnect Google. Tokens are revoked immediately.
- In your Google Account: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, select Local Business Manager, then remove access.
Google user data is deleted within 30 days of disconnection. See Data deletion for the details.
